John Hope Franklin
John Hope Franklin
is the nation's most celebrated African American historian. His landmark
publication From Slavery to Freedom is required reading in high
schools and colleges around the country. The author of 12 books, he has
inspired students at several institutions of higher learning including
Duke University, Fisk University, Howard University, and the University
of Chicago.
Respected for his
opinions on the dynamics of human relations, Dr. Franklin served as Chairman
of the Advisory Board to the President's Initiative on Race during the
Clinton administration.
