Timothy J. Dennee, an architectural historian with the District of Columbia's Historic Preservation Office which is a division of Office of Planning, talked about his work located East of the River, particularly in the Anacostia Historic District and the reviewing of federal projects at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, including the framework plan for the district-owned east campus of St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Dennee talked about projects in Anacostia including the development of small scale residential and commercial buildings along Martin Luther King Avenue as well as working with home and business owners to maintain the historic integrity of the buildings in Anacostia. He talked about the architectural history of Anacostia; land use, zoning regulations, and planning; blighted properties in Anacostia; the Poplar Point development; and his personal research on Barry Farms. He also explained his vision for the future of Anacostia.
