The Career sub-series contains photographs associated with Patterson's tenure at Tuskegee Institute and the Phelps-Stokes Fund, including professional portraits of Patterson. Persons of note include President Franklin Roosevelt, Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, George Washington Carver, Robert Russa Moton, and Leontyne Price.
