- This series contains correspondence to and from many members of the Sullivan Family. The bulk of the material dates from the World War II era. Most notably are the letters from Earle L. Sullivan to his mother Louise while he was an aviation cadet training at the Tuskegee Institute in 1943. There are also a series of letters from Ethylene Mendez (Sullivan cousin) to a friend in the army, Herbert Phillips from 1940 to 1945.
