An interview of Carolyn Taylor Crocker conducted in 1975 for the Anacostia Oral History Project through the Center for Anacostia Studies and the Anacostia Community Museum.; Carolyn Taylor Crocker recalls growing up in Anacostia beginning around 1904-5 until her marriage in 1924. Topics include her ancestry and schooling at the Birney School, her work at Western Union, and the difficulty her father had getting work as a laborer with no union. Crocker also talks about the Urban League and her friends' work with the League regarding segregation and discrimination.
