The Anacostia Community Museum Library is one of twenty-one specialized libraries in the Smithsonian Libraries system. Formed in 1991 to support the museum's research, exhibitions, and programs, it contains around 8,000 books covering topics in urban studies, cultural studies, African American history and culture, and community museology, among others. The library is open to Smithsonian staff, and members of the public by appointment.
