- Caption
- A dove's silhouette graces the lid of this carved wooden box. A notch on the front of the vessel facilitates the lid’s easy removal. A semi-gloss coating highlights the woods' natural grains, which includes dark, straited lines on the decorated cover and different tones and hues on the bottom.
- After moving to Washington, DC following World War II, Ira Blount (1918-2020) mastered dozens of artisanal crafts. His love for crafting, learning, and community engagement would endure over the course of his long life and career.
