- Caption
- This mixed-media sculpture of a painted blue metal jet plane and a found fragment of marine coral playfully subverts ideas about the hobbyist’s model airplane, as well as sculptural traditions. A thin, black stick attaches the plane to a coral base, creating the illusion of flying over a cloud. The work is characteristic of the artist BK Adams—who is famous for his pop-up public art in Washington, DC—in that it engages viewers through the use of unconventional materials.
