- This mixed media sculpture by artist BK Adams intimates a slice of the human body propped on a thin metal base. The rectangular head is the most clearly defined feature, where the inside of a triangular hole is painted green to represent an eye. The narrow profile edges of the figure are painted purple with green and red horizontal stripes, and a drip painting with black, red, orange, blue, and yellow splotches on a white background evoke internal organs such as veins, brain synapses, and even a digestive tract. An orange base stabilizes the structure like a foot. “Walking People,” was featured in the Walking Exhibit that was part of the 2011 exhibition, “Exercise Your Mynd” as well as the “Call and Response: Community and Creativity” exhibition series, both at the Anacostia Community Museum.
