- Caption
- This poster advertising the New Thing Art & Architecture Center features a photograph of the center’s locale, a rowhouse in the Adams Morgan neighborhood of Washington, D.C. This was a hub of multidisciplinary creative activism, radically reimagining the urban experience through the arts. The New Thing sought to empower the Adams Morgan community by leading workshops to ‘do your thing,’ encouraging individual action and expression. The New Thing, in this poster and in practice, transformed the ordinary city landscape into an extraordinary place of art.
