This round pinback button commemorates "Regional Equity 08: The Third National Summit on Equitable Development, Social Justice, and Smart Growth". Held in New Orleans, LA, in March 2008, the conference stressed the role of regional equity as a framework for social change. The pin features a cheerful drawing of a row of detached houses surrounded by trees and flowers, under a bright blue sky.
The button is among more than 200 collected by Washington, DC-based environmental justice advocate Vernice Miller-Travis.
