- This round pinback button advocated for the approval of Initiative 10 calling for a freeze on nuclear arms production. The pin features black lettering against a yellow background, with the number 10 printed in red at the center. The number “0” in 10 is depicted as a red prohibition sign overlaid on a black bomb facing downwards. The resolution, promoted by the DC Campaign for a Nuclear Weapons Freeze group, was included on the ballot for the November 2, 1982 general election. It was approved in the District of Columbia and other states.
- The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
