- With this round pinback button, the 1199SEIU expressed their endorsement for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential candidacy. The 1199 is the largest local union within the Service Employees International Union. The pin, in white, yellow, and purple, reads “Obama ’08 / SEIU 1199” and features the union’s logo at the center.
- The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
