This round pinback button expressed support for Linda Cropp’s candidacy as council chairman of the District of Columbia. The pin features her name and the seat she was running for, as well as the slogan “Now More Then Ever / She’s Part of the Solution.”. Three white stars and the red, white, and black colors identify the District. Cropp got the chairman seat on her second run in 1997 and served for ten years.
The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
