This round pinback button expressed support for the reelection of councilor Wilhelmina Rolark from the District of Columbia. The pin reads “Re-elect / Wilhelmina Rolark / D.C. Council / Ward 8” in blue lettering against a white background. Rolark represented Ward 8 from 1976 until 1993, when former Mayor Marion Barry defeated her in the Democratic primary election.
The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
