This round pinback button promoted the re-election of Barbara Lett-Simmons for the Board of Education of the District of Columbia. The pin reads “Re-Elect / Barbara Lett Simmons / At Large / D.C. School Board” in brown lettering against a white background. Simmons served three consecutive terms on the Board, being elected the first time in 1973.
The button is among more than 200 collected by longtime Anacostia resident and social justice advocate Howard Croft.
