Almost 80% of the COVID-19 deaths in DC have been African-Americans even though we only make up 46% of the city’s population.
That’s why I jumped at the opportunity to help Armstrong Williams deliver 30,000 masks to East of the River Unity Health Care.
The mayor’s new directives makes it clear that everyone must wear a mask when entering any business, on public transit or in rideshares.
Masks must be combined with hand-washing and social distancing. DC is currently at 5 days of consistent declines in COVID-19 cases.
If we get to 14 we can begin a phased re-opening on June 8th. Stay safe, stay distant and we’ll be into the next phase soon!
