For more than 35 years New Orleans photographer J. Nash Porter has documented the masking traditions and community support of the Black Mardi Gras Indians. This exhibition features more than 45 of Porter's photographic portraits of the Mardi Gras Indians and their elaborate handmade suits (costumes) and patches. Also on display are full suits from the museum's collection.
